Pasadena Horse and Pony Association

The Pasadena Horse and Pony Association was established in 1995 by Phil and Alice Dibben, owners of Sandhill Thoroughbred Farm, in order to create and promote interest in horses, horsemanship and horseback riding as a recreational activity. A 501(c) organization, volunteer members have organized activities such as Horse Appreciation Day (an annual event open to the public which draws 600-800 visitors), clinics, trail rides, contests, horse shows, camps, fundraisers and speakers at regular meetings. Trail rides are primarily at the Lake Shore Athletic Complex, on trails maintained by the County. The PHPA supports the Maryland Horse Industry Board concept for a Maryland Horse Park, and is the voice for recreational horse owners in Anne Arundel County.
